Pervin Varma started her career in advertising working with Lintas India (now Lowe) for 3 years before moving to CRY (Child Rights and You) in 1990. In 1998, she was appointed CEO and headed CRY till she left in 2004. Since then, she has been a consultant within the development sector. Pervin serves as Trustee on the Boards of CRY, Citizens for Peace (CFP), and Zensar Foundation, and is a member of the Advisory Board of Pratham Books.
